[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 김해시는 낙동강권역의 자원을 활용한 관광자원 사업을 본격 추진한다고 6일 밝혔다.
시는 낙동강에 면한 우수한 자연환경과 국내 유일 강(낙동강)을 가로지르는 철도테마파크(김해낙동강레일파크) 인프라를 보유하고 있는 생림지역에서 관광자원 사업을 추진하기 위한 로드맵을 마련했다.
이에 시는 2023년부터 향후 2년간 지방비 55억원을 투입해 김해 낙동강레일파크 시설과 관광 콘텐츠를 확충하는 사업을 추진한다.
와인동굴 480m 중 미개발된 200m 잔여구간을 활용해 미디어 콘텐츠 전시 공간을 조성하고 레일바이크 회차 구간을 연장해 밀양 삼랑진까지 이어지는 하차장을 증설할 계획이다.
시는 이번 관광자원 사업으로 체험형 관광명소를 구축하고 밀양 삼랑진 지역과 관광자원 연계로 관광객 체류시간이 늘어나면서 지역경제 활성화 효과가 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
이와 함께 시는 생림면 낙동강을 배경으로 숙박시설, 전망대, 교육.체험시설을 갖춘 유원지 조성을 위해 내년 김해도시기본계획 변경 용역 등 사전 행정절차를 진행한다.
낙동강 유원지는 낙동강이란 천혜의 자연환경을 활용해 새롭고 차별화된 형태의 정주형 관광지로 조성할 계획이며 시는 지역주민과도 상생할 수 있는 지역 밀착형 공간이 되도록 할 방침이다.
시 관계자는 “생림권 관광자원 사업을 시작으로 우리 지역의 우수한 자원을 지속적으로 발굴해 관광산업이 지역경제의 새로운 중심축이 될 수 있게 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
