KT&G가 대전ㆍ충청지역 취약계층을 대상으로 ‘겨울나기 월동용품’을 지원했다.
6일 KT&G에 따르면 이상학 KT&G 지속경영본부장은 지난 5일 충남 논산시청을 방문해 백성현 시장에게 5천만원 상당의 월동용품을 전달했다.
지원된 월동용품은 논산시 상월면 취약계층 100세대에 전달될 예정이다.
앞서, KT&G 신탄진공장도 대전시 대덕구 지역내 취약계층에 ‘사랑의 김장 나눔’ 행사를 갖고 4천만원 상당의 김장김치 10t을 1,100세대에 전달했다.
‘사랑의 김장 나눔’ 행사는 KT&G 신탄진공장이 2005년부터 18년째 진행해온 사회공헌활동으로 경제적으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 지역 취약계층과 노년층 가정에 전달해왔다.
KT&G 관계자는 “올해 급작스런 한파로 어려움에 처한 이웃들이 따뜻한 겨울을 보낼 수 있기를 바라는 마음을 담아 월동용품을 지원했다”며, “앞으로도 지역사회의 소외계층을 꼼꼼히 살피고 나눔 문화 확산을 위해 적극적인 지원 활동을 펼칠 것”이라고 말했다.
