이번 행사는 박완수 경상남도지사를 비롯해 박형준 부산광역시장, 김두겸 울산광역시장과 부울경 기획조정실장, 담당국장, 산하 연구원 관계자 등 20여 명이 참석한 가운데 3개 시·도지사의 공동건의문 서명과 발표가 있었다.
국토교통부에서 올해 2월 말까지 개발제한구역 제도개선 의견을 수렴하기로 함에 따라 부울경 3개 시·도와 연구원은 지난해 12월부터 총 4차례 실무회의를 통해 부울경 개발제한구역 제도개선에 대한 건의안을 함께 만들어왔다.
