23일 울진군에 따르면 ‘(사)생명의 숲’은 지난해 3월 울진 산불 직후 카카오의 사회공헌플랫폼‘카카오같이가치’와 함께‘산불피해 산림복원 프로젝트-다시, 숲에 싹을 틔워요’모금을 진행해 23만여 명의 후원자의 모금과 희녹(hinok), 메가박스 등의 기부로 약 6억5천9백만원의 기금을 조성했다.
이날 협약에 따라 울진군, 생명의 숲, 카카오는 조성된 기금으로 산불피해지 북면 부구리에 산림 복구 조림을 추진할 예정이다.
강승원 카카오 이사는“카카오같이가치를 통해 많은 시민들이 산불피해지 복원활동에 마음을 보내주셨다”며“앞으로도 숲의 회복을 도울 수 있도록 적극적으로 힘쓰겠다”라고 했다.
생명의 숲 신준환 공동대표는“숲이 사라지는 것은 한순간이지만 그 숲을 복원하는 데에는 긴 시간이 걸린다. 숲의 건강한 회복뿐 아니라 산불 예방의 중요성을 깨닫는 것이 중요하다”고 했다.
손병복 울진군수는“작년 발생한 대형산불로 울진군의 울창했던 숲이 소실되어 상실감이 크다”며 “산불피해 복구에 많은 관심을 주셔서 감사하고 군도 숲의 복원을 위해 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”라고 전했다.
