세종시민이 모은 10톤의 온정이 23일 튀르키예로 전달됐다.
세종시는 이날 시민, 단체 등의 기부로 마련한 옷, 침구류, 생활필수품 등으로 구성한 구호물품을 튀르키예 이재민에게 전달했다.
앞서 시는 읍면동행정복지센터를 통해 지난 13일부터 17일까지 닷새간 주민, 단체 등을 대상으로 구호물품 기부행사를 진행했다.
시민들은 코트, 재킷 등 겨울용 의류는 물론, 이불, 담요, 침낭 침구류와 기저귀, 생리대, 화장지 등 생필품까지 20여 종류를 기부했으며, 이는 5톤 탑차 2대를 꽉 메웠다.
시는 선별·포장작업을 거쳐 이날 인천 물류센터로 전달했으며, 선별·포장작업에는 읍면동행정복지센터 직원들이 참여해 소중한 가족과 삶의 터전을 잃은 튀르키예 이재민을 위한 지원에 정성을 보탰다.
고기동 행정부시장은 물류센터로 구호물품이 출발하기 전 대평동 복합커뮤니티센터를 찾아 튀르키예를 위해 온정을 모아준 시민들에게 감사를 표하기도 했다.
고 부시장은 “감사하게도 정말 많은 시민분들과 단체에서 구호물품을 기부해주셨다”라며 “물품 하나하나에 따뜻한 마음이 느껴지며 튀르키예 국민이 지진 피해를 극복하는 데 도움이 되길 바란다”라고 말했다.
