군은 이번 착수보고회에서 도출된 다양한 의견들을 바탕으로 월송 큰줄당기기, 대풍헌 수토사 뱃길 재현행사 등 현재 시행되고 있는 전통 행사들을 접목하여 단오제가 전국 단위 행사로 이어질지에 대한 가능성을 검토하고 세부적인 행사 시행방안을 마련하여 울진의 실정에 맞는 행사가 될 수 있도록 철저한 준비를 할 계획이다.
손병복 울진군수는“울진의 역사성을 바탕으로 울진을 대표할 수 있는 차별화 전략이 가장 중요하며, 타사례와 비교를 통해 울진군의 특색있는 프로그램을 도출해야 한다”며“평해 단오제가 전국적으로 전통이 있는 행사로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 군민들의 관심과 적극적인 협조를 바란다”라고 당부했다.
