브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이재명 더불어민주당 대표가 경기도지사를 역임하던 시절 초대 비서실장 전모씨가 숨진 채 발견됐다.
10일 경찰에 따르면 경기 성남수정경찰서는 9일 오후 8시50분 경기 성남시 수정구 창곡동의 한 아파트에서 숨져 있는 전 경기도청 비서실장 전모씨를 발견했다.
경찰은 전씨가 유서를 남긴 것 등을 토대로 극단적 선택을 한 것으로 보고 있으나, 정확한 사망 경위 등은 계속 조사할 방침이다.
전씨는 이재명 대표가 성남시장 당시 비서실장과 행정기획조정실장 등을 역임했다. 경기지사 당선된 뒤에도 당선인 비서실장을 거쳐 초대 비서실장을 역임한 인물이다.
그는 비서실장에서 퇴임한 뒤에는 경기주택도시공사(GH) 경영기획본부장을 지내다 사장 직무대행을 맡기도 했다.
한편 이재명 대표의 의혹과 관련해 사망한 인물은 전씨가 다섯 번째다.
앞서 2021년 12월 유한기 전 성남도시개발공사 개발사업본부장과 김문기 전 성남도시개발공사 개발사업1처장이 극단적인 선택을 했다.
지난해 7월에는 이 대표의 부인 김혜경씨의 법인카드 사적 유용 의혹의 핵심 인물인 배모씨의 지인이 경찰 참고인 조사를 받던 중 극단적 선택을 했다.
지난해 1월엔 이 후보의 변호사비 대납 의혹의 제보자 이모씨가 모텔에서 숨진 채 발견됐다. 다만 이씨의 경우는 지병으로 인해 사망한 것으로 확인됐다.
