[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경상남도는 20일 한국철도공사(코레일)의 평택~오송선 등에 투입될 7,100억 원 규모 EMU-320(동력분산식 고속철) 136량 입찰의 개찰결과 도내 소재기업인 현대로템이 낙찰예정자로 선정됐다고 밝혔다.
이번 입찰에서는 이례적으로 입찰자격에 고속철 납품실적을 제외하여, 해외업체 참가 등 17년 만에 고속철 제조업체 간 치열한 경쟁이 예상되었으나, 국내 제일의 고속철 기술력을 보유한 현대로템이 기술 점수에서 경쟁우위를 확보하며 단독 낙찰예정자로 선정된 것으로 평가받고 있다.
코레일은 21~22일 이틀간 안정성 평가를 거쳐 28일까지는 최종 낙찰자 결정 및 계약체결을 한다는 방침이다.
박완수 도지사는 그동안 고속철 입찰자격 변경에 따른 해외업체의 무분별한 국내 고속철 시장 진입 등 업계의 우려를 지역을 방문한 대통령, 국토교통부장관 등에게 직접 수차례 전달했으며, 철도 분야의 입찰제도 개선, 정부 지원 등을 촉구하는 대정부 공동결의문을 채택하는 등 지역 기업을 지원했다.
