신인 인디 뮤지션을 발굴을 위한 ‘2023 밴드 디스커버리’ 참가 신청 접수가 시작됐다.
KT&G(사장 백복인)가 ‘2023 밴드 디스커버리’ 참가 대상자를 오는 4월 28일까지 KT&G 상상마당 홈페이지와 라이브홀 인스타그램에서 참가 신청을 받는다
올해로 15회째를 맞는 ‘밴드 디스커버리’는 KT&G 상상마당이 잠재력 있는 신인 인디 뮤지션 발굴과 지원을 위해 지난 2007년부터 진행해온 문화공헌 프로그램이다.
지금까지 총 51개 팀을 선발해 기성 뮤지션으로 성장할 수 있도록 상금과 싱글앨범 제작, 공연기회 제공 등 실질적인 혜택을 지원해 왔다.
이를 통해 4인조 유명 인디밴드인 쏜애플, 얼터니티브 록밴드인 더베인 등 다수의 실력파 뮤지션들을 배출해내며, 신인 뮤지션의 등용문으로 자리매김했다.
이번 공모는 온라인에서 검색 가능한 자작곡을 3곡 이상 보유한 신인 뮤지션을 대상으로 진행된다.
서류심사와 온라인 경연을 거쳐 최종 선정된 2개 팀에게는 각각 상금을 포함해 앨범 제작비 등 500만원 상당의 혜택을 비롯해 기성 뮤지션들과 합동공연 및 상상마당이 기획하는 공연에 참여할 기회도 제공된다.
심영아 KT&G 사회공헌실장은 “‘밴드 디스커버리’를 통해 잠재력 있는 신인 뮤지션들이 자신들의 음악을 대중들에게 선보일 기회를 제공해 왔다”며 “국내 대표 복합문화공간인 KT&G 상상마당은 공연, 전시 등 다양한 프로그램을 통해 문화예술 저변확대에 지속적으로 기여할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
