[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 25일 한국산업기술시험원 우주부품시험센터에서 ‘2단계 초소형위성(JINJUSat-2) 개발사업’ 착수회의를 개최했다.
시는 지난 2019년부터 기초지방자치단체 최초로 추진해온 1단계 초소형위성 개발사업의 후속사업인 ‘2단계 초소형위성(JINJUSat-2) 개발사업’을 경남도, 한국산업기술시험원, 경상국립대와 함께 추진할 예정이다.
이번 진주샛 투(JINJUSat-2) 개발사업은 6U(1U : 가로·세로·높이가 각각 10cm인 정육면체) 크기의 초소형위성을 오는 2027년까지 개발해 도내 우주기업 육성과 전문인력 양성에 기여하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.
한국산업기술시험원은 초소형위성 개발 및 발사와 우주환경 시험을 총괄하고, 경상국립대는 개발 지원과 기술 연구 및 전문인력 양성을, 진주시와 경남도는 이에 필요한 행정·재정적 지원을 하게 된다.
