이번 단속은 불법체류자를 야간에 고용해 유흥접객행위를 한다는 제보에 따라 지난달 29일 오전 1시 30분경 진주시와 진주경찰서, 창원 출입국외국인사무소 등 26명이 단속에 참여했다.
이날 단속에서 유학, 여행 자격으로 국내에 입국한 후 불법 체류 중인 베트남인 12명을 검거, 현장에서 실시한 마약류 간이 시약 검사 결과 ‘엑스터시 양성’반응이 나온 베트남 국적 20대 A씨를 마약 투약 혐의로 긴급 체포했다.
불법체류자는 창원 출입국외국인사무소에서 조사 후 강제 퇴거 예정이며, 고용주는 출입국관리법 위반혐의로 고발, 해당 유흥주점은 식품위생법에 따라 행정처분 될 예정이다.
