울진군, 광역교통망 확충 본격 시동

8일 울진군에 따르면 이날 만남은 울진군수가 지난해 9월 국토부 주관으로 개최한‘제7회 항공레저 FESTA(페스타)’에 참석한 국토부 제2차관과의 인연으로 통화하면서 방문이 이뤄졌다.

한편 울진군은 인구감소, 지방소멸이라는 시대적 위기 속에서 2만명 이상의 고용 유발과 7조 이상의 생산 유발 효과가 발생하는 원자력수소 국가산단 유치를 필두로 관광객 1000만 유치를 앞당길 수 있는 토대를 마련하고자 광역교통망 확충에도 본격적으로 노력을 기울이고 있다.

어명소 국토교통부 2차관은“울진군의 낙후된 도로망에 대해 공감하며 소외된 지역의 접근성에 대한 제고를 위해 우선 도로 분야의 상위계획인‘국가 도로 건설·관리계획’에 반영될 수 있도록 관련 기관과의 긴밀한 협의와 자체 용역 등을 통한 충분한 논리 개발이 필요하다며 이에 더욱 특별한 관심을 갖고 돕겠다”라고 말했다.

손병복 울진군수는“민선 8기 지역발전의 초석이 될 대형사업들이 순조롭게 추진되기 위해서는 반드시 광역교통망 계획이 국가정책에 반영되어야 하며 이를 위해 지속적인 사업 건의 등 꼼꼼히 챙겨나가겠다”라고 전했다.
