‘켐트로닉스’와 ‘레이크테크놀로지’가 세종시에 2,020억 신규 투자를 9일 확정했다.
이날 최민호 세종시장은 켐트로닉스 김응수 대표, 레이크테크놀로지의 김진동 대표와 청사 4층 한글책문화센터에서와 2,020억 원 규모의 투자협약에 서명했다.
켐트로닉스는 지난 40년간 화학, 전자, 자율주행 사업을 영위하고 있는 세종의 대표 중견기업이다.
이번 협약을 통해 켐트로닉스는 청송농공단지 1만 6,297㎡ 부지에 유기발광다이오드(OLED) 식각 제조 시설을 증설하고 중장기 성장 동력 육성에 주력하기로 했다.
증설 라인 공장은 연내 착공할 계획이며, 이에 따라 최소 50명의 일자리 창출이 예상된다.
레이크테크놀로지는 국내 유일의 TMA 제조 기술을 바탕으로 반도체·디스플레이·촉매·태양전지·LED 등의 소재를 생산하는 레이크머티리얼즈의 자회사로 지난 2020년 설립됐다.
레이크테크놀로지는 미래산단 7,590㎡ 부지에 신규 시설 투자에 유기금속전구체소재 공장을 2027년까지 건설하기로 하고 50명의 신규고용을 창출할 예정이다.
켐트로닉스 김응수 대표는 “가전제품·휴대폰·자동차·디스플레이 등에 적용하는 소재부품, 케미칼 등의 제품에 대한 지속적인 기술개발과 신규사업 육성을 통해 미래 성장동력 확보와 사회적 가치 창출에 앞장설 것”이라고 말했다.
김진동 대표는 “연구역량을 집중해 혁신제품 개발 및 사업을 다각화하고, 유기금속 분야 특수화학 시장에서 경쟁력을 가진 글로벌 기업이 되겠다”고 밝혔다.
시는 이번 투자로 차세대 첨단기술을 활용한 신규 라인에 대한 투자로 일자리 창출, 인재 양성 등 지역사회와 동반성장 효과가 있을 것으로 예상했다.
