대전신세계 Art&Science가 지역 청소년에게 희망장학금 1억 3천만원 전달했다.
대전신세계 Art&Science(이하 대전신세계)는 10일 오후 2시 제 2기 지역인재 희망장학금 전달식을 열고 지역 내 중·고등학생 130명에게 각 100만원씩 장학금 1억 3000만원을 전달했다.
이날 전달식은 윤석희 (주)대전신세계 대표이사와 장학생 추천기관을 대표해 설동호 대전광역시교육감, 정용래 유성구청장, 한전복 초록우산어린이재단 대전지역본부장 등이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.
신세계 희망장학금은 어려운 환경에서도 희망을 키워나가는 지역 청소년들을 후원하기 위해 신세계백화점이 1996년부터 지난 27년간 90억 규모의 장학금을 지원한 대표적인 사회공헌활동이다.
대전신세계는 지역 현지법인으로서 지역사회와의 상생에 동참하고, 지역사회의 미래를 이끌어 나갈 청소년들을 응원하기 위해 지난해에 이어 두 번째로 희망장학금 전달식을 개최했다.
장학금은 기초 생활수급 및 차상위 계층 청소년과 장애/난치병 청소년, 다문화가정/조손가정 청소년, 공무 및 업무상 재해를 당한 경찰관·소방관 자녀, 대전신세계 대전신세계 도급사/중소 협력사 자녀 등 다양한 지역 청소년들에게 주어진다.
