[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시 농산물 공동브랜드인 '진주드림 쌀' 5톤을 호주로 수출하는 선적식이 지난 11일 열렸다.
진주시 사봉면에 위치한 미곡종합처리장에서 진주시 농산물유통과 김상문 과장과 농협쌀 조합 공동사업법인 박윤철 대표, 진양농협 손종태 조합장 등 수출 관계자가 참석한 가운데 선적식을 가졌다.
시는 지난 2월 호주 첫 수출 이후 지속적으로 바이어와의 소통을 통해 판매동향을 관리해 왔으며 이번 2차 수출 물량도 사전 예약판매 및 현지 매장에서의 빠른 판매를 예상하고 있다.
한편 농협쌀 조합 공동사업법인은 진주시 11개 농협 통합 조직으로 운영되고 있으며 주 관리농협은 진양농협이다.
박윤철 대표는 쌀 산업 발전을 위해 노력한 공을 인정받아 올해 5월 전국 통합 RPC회장으로 취임했다.
진양농협 손종태 조합장은 “지난해 쌀값 폭락으로 농촌경제는 물론 전국 농협 RPC들의 적자로 힘든 상황이지만 쌀산업 직접 지원과 더불어 수출육성과 쌀가공품 개발 등 생명산업인 쌀 산업 안정을 위해 농협과 지자체가 머리를 맞대고 돌파구를 마련해야 한다”고 말했다.
