세종지역 청소년의 통학환경을 개선을 위한 간담회가 17일 열렸다.
김효숙 세종시의회(나성동·교육안전위원회 소속) 의원은 이날 오전 10시 의회 6층 의정실에서 세종시 학교운영위원장 협의회 임원진이 참석한 가운데 ‘통학권 보장을 위한 학부모 간담회’를 개최했다.
간담회는 박현숙 학교운영위원장 협의회장 등 10명의 임원진이 참석했다.
이 자리에서 박현숙 회장과 임원진들은 “현재 세종시가 추진 중인 버스노선 개편안에 통학 여건 개선사항이 제대로 반영되지 않았다”며 “보다 현실적인 통학환경 개선을 위해 시와 교육청이 함께 적극 나서야 한다”고 말했다.
김효숙 의원은 “충남 아산시와 공주시, 경기도 동두천시 등 이미 다수의 지자체에서 통학노선 버스 신설을 위해 적극 노력 중이다”라며 “반면에 정작 아동·청소년 인구 비율이 가장 높은 세종시와 교육청은 통학환경개선에 소극적인 모습을 보이고 있다”고 설명했다.
이어 “올해 인천시 교육청은 전국 최초로 원거리 통학하는 중고등학생들을 위해 ‘학생성공버스’를 운영을 시작했다”며 “진안군은 대중교통 취약지역에 있는 학생들을 위해 ‘통학택시’를 운행하고 있다”고 덧붙였다.
김효숙 의원은 “앞으로 통학 여건에 대한 정확한 수요조사로 현실적인 방안을 만들어 학생들이 편하게 등·하교할 수 있는 환경이 조성되도록 하겠다”고 강조했다.
