브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 구자균 LS일렉트릭 회장이 서울 올림픽대로에서 자신의 페라리 차량을 타고 시속 160km가 넘는 속도로 질주했다 검찰로 송치되는 사건이 뒤늦게 전해졌다.
특히 조사 과정에서 차량 관리를 맡은 직원이 "자신이 몰았다"고 거짓 진술을 했다가 함께 검찰로 송치됐다.
19일 경찰에 따르면 서울 용산경찰서는 지난해 11월 9일 오후 11시 30분 경 서울 올림픽대로에서 시속 167km로 달리던 페라리 차량이 과속 단속카메라에 적발됐다. 제한 최고속도 80km 도로에서 2배도 넘는 속도로 과속한 것이다.
도로교통법에 따르면 제한속도보다 2배가 넘는 과속을 하면 단순 과태료 통지를 넘어 형사처벌 대상이 된다.
이에 경찰은 해당 페라리 소유주인 구자균 회장에게 조사를 위해 출석할 것을 통보했다.
하지만 경찰 조사를 받기 위해 출석한 것은 이 회사 총무팀에서 '차량 관리' 업무를 맡고 있는 김모 부장이었다.
김 부장은 경찰에 대리출석해 자신이 해당 차를 몰았다고 진술했다. 하지만 김 부장은 경찰 조사 이후 나흘만에 말을 바꿨다.
자신이 차를 몰지 않았으며 범인을 도피시키기 위해 거짓으로 말했다는 내용의 자수서까지 제출했다.

한편 LS일렉트릭 측은, 차량 관리를 맡은 직원이 단순 범칙금 통보인줄 알고 출석해 조사를 받았으나 그런 사안이 아니란 걸 알고 자수하는 형식으로 진술을 번복한 것이라며 회사나 회장의 지시는 없었다고 설명했다.
