KT&G장학재단과 경찰대학 교육진흥재단의 ‘글로벌 인재 양성을 위한 업무협약(MOU)’이 지난 31일 있었다.
KT&G장학재단과 경찰대학 교육진흥재단은 이날 충남 아산에 위치한 경찰대학교에서 안홍필 KT&G장학재단 사무국장과 김두연 경찰대학 교육진흥재단 이사장 등이 참석한 가운데 협약식을 갖고 협업에 나섰다.
협약에 따라 KT&G장학재단은 경찰대학 치안대학원 외국인 유학생 등 글로벌 역량을 갖춘 인재들에게 총 3,000만원의 장학금을 지원한다. KT&G복지재단과 협업해 해외 봉사 기회도 제공할 계획이다.
안홍필 KT&G장학재단 사무국장은 “국가에 기여할 우수한 글로벌 인재를 양성하고 이들에게 안정적인 교육환경을 제공하기 위해 경찰대학 교육진흥재단과 이번 업무협약을 추진하게 됐다”며, “앞으로도 차별화된 장학 프로그램을 통해 차세대 글로벌 인재를 적극 육성해 나갈 것”이라고 밝혔다.
한편, KT&G장학재단은 KT&G가 ‘함께하는 기업’이라는 경영이념을 실천하기 위해 2008년 설립한 공익법인으로, 교육 소외계층 지원과 미래인재 육성을 위해 국내외에서 다양한 장학사업을 펼치고 있다. 재단 설립 이후 작년까지 누적 8,679명에게 총 395억원에 달하는 장학금을 지원했다.
