[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 합천군은 12일 합천군청 3층 대회의실에서 두무산 양수발전소 유치추진단 발대식을 개최했다.
이날 발대식에는 사회단체 등 50여명이 참석해 상생과 협력을 통한 성공적인 양수발전소 유치를 위해 본격적인 활동의 결의를 다졌다.
유치추진단은 김윤철 군수와 조삼술 군의장이 공동위원장, 마홍열 군 이장단 협의회장이 부위원장, 7개 분과 위원 등으로 구성됐으며 지역주민 의견 청취 및 주민소득사업 발굴 등 다수의 군민들이 원하는 지역발전과 상생방안을 마련하는 역할을 충실히 이행할 것을 다짐했다.
정부는 지난 1월 12일 제10차 전력수급기본계획을 확정하고 한국수력원자력는 정부의 에너지 정책에 따라 양수발전소 건설 예비후보지에 대한 환경성·기술성 및 부지적합성 등의 검토를 거쳤다.
발전소 건설이 확정되면 승인고시일부터 발전소 가동 기간까지 지역인재 육성, 사회복지사업, 지역문화 행사지원 등 825억원 이상의 지역 지원사업이 추진된다.
이에 합천군은 묘산면 산제·반포리 일원에 설비용량 900MW, 사업비 1조 8000억원 규모의 양수발전소를 유치하기 위해 이장협의회, 노인회, 청년회 등 관내 주요 사회단체가 주축이 된 두무산 양수발전소 유치를 위한 유치추진단을 구성했으며 투자유치, 상생협력, 주민소득, 지역개발, 대외협력 분과로 나눠 민관이 함께하는 전방위적 유치활동을 펼치고 있다.
김윤철 합천군수는 “급격한 인구감소로 지역소멸의 위험이 가속화되고 있는 심각한 상황”이라며 “지역발전과 합천군의 미래를 위해 한 마음으로 뜻을 함께해 주실 것을 간곡히 당부드린다”고 전했다.
조삼술 합천군의회 의장은 “두무산 양수발전소 유치로 합천군의 미래를 밝히는 것을 확신하며 함께 단결해 이 경쟁을 이겨낼것”이라고 전했다.
