브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 제너시스BBQ 그룹은 ESG 경영의 일환으로 환경의 달을 맞아 친환경 소재를 활용한 ‘리사이클링 하계 유니폼’을 도입했다고 20일 밝혔다.
BBQ의 친환경 유니폼은 폐 페트병을 작게 분쇄한 후 원사로 제작한 100% ‘리사이클 폴리에스터’ 소재로 제작했다. 내구성이 높고 여러 번 재사용 가능한 친환경 소재로 최근 지속가능한 패션에 대한 수요가 증가하면서 주목받고 있다.
BBQ는 약 4200병의 폐 페트병으로 총 300벌의 리사이클링 유니폼을 제작했다. 유니폼은 직영점부터 우선 도입하고, 추가 생산을 통해 전국의 패밀리(가맹점주)에게도 순차적으로 도입할 예정이다.
BBQ 관계자는 “환경문제에 대한 소비자 관심이 높아짐에 따라 BBQ도 지속가능한 경영의 일환으로 친환경 소재를 활용한 유니폼을 도입했다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 방법으로 통해 사회적 책임을 다하고 환경 보호에 앞장서는 기업이 될 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 전했다.
