23일 삼장면에 따르면 가우라꽃은 꽃모양이 나비를 닮고 기다란 수술이 바늘을 닮아 나비바늘꽃이라고도 불린다.
특히 가우라꽃이 피어있는 모습은 마치 아름다운 나비 떼가 날아온 듯한 모습을 연상시킨다.
삼장면은 지난해부터 후천~명상마을 구간을 따라 가우라꽃을 비롯해 구절초, 수선화를 식재하는 등 아름다운 경관 조성을 위해 힘을 쏟고 있다.
또 고향의 강 산책로 1.5㎞ 구간에 식재한 금계국은 개화 시기 많은 탐방객들이 찾으며 인기를 끌고 있다.
