브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 기아는 모닝의 상품성 개선 모델 ‘더 뉴 모닝’을 5일 출시한다고 밝혔다.
모닝은 신차급으로 변경한 외장 디자인과 동급 최고 수준의 첨단 운전자 보조 시스템 및 편의 사양을 갖춘 것이 특징이다.
기아는 모닝에 동급 최초로 LED 헤드램프와 센터 포지셔닝 램프를 적용했다. 여기에 블랙 그릴부와 조화를 이루는 범퍼부의 간결한 면처리를 통해 모던하고 역동적인 전면부 디자인을 구현했다.
측면부는 전면부 스타맵 시그니처 라이팅에서 뻗어나와 후면부 시그니처 리어 콤비램프까지 연결되는 캐릭터 라인과, 서로 다른 도형들이 기하학적으로 조화를 이루는 16인치 휠을 적용해 모닝만의 독창적인 이미지를 구현했다.
후면부는 시그니처 리어 콤비 램프와 입체감이 느껴지는 범퍼와 하단 범퍼 반사등과 수직으로 연결되는 듯한 테일램프가 안정감 있는 디자인을 완성했다.

기아는 모닝을 신규 색상 ‘어드벤쳐러스 그린’과 ‘시그널 레드’를 더한 7종의 외장 색상과 ‘브라운’과 ‘다크 그린’을 추가한 총 3종의 내장 색상으로 운영한다.

기아는 모닝 2인승 밴의 상품성 개선 모델도 함께 선보인다. 6 에어백 시스템을 기본화해 안전성을 높였고 8인치 디스플레이 오디오와 후방 모니터, 1열 충전용 C타입 USB 단자를 기본 적용해 편의성을 높였다.
모닝은 가솔린 1.0 엔진과 4단 자동변속기를 조합해 14인치 휠 기준 동급 최고 수준인 15.1km/ℓ의 복합연비를 갖췄다.
