브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 농심이 지난주 출시한 새우깡의 후속작 '먹태깡'이 일주일 만에 100만봉 넘게 팔리는 등 예상을 뛰어넘는 반응을 보이고 있다.
먹태깡은 지난달 26일 출시 이후 일주일 만에 자사 집계 기준 100만 봉 이상 팔려나갔다. 실제로 편의점 등 일부 유통채널에서 품절 사태가 잇따르며 인기를 실감하고 있다.
이에 농심은 활용 가능한 생산시설을 조정해 다음주부터 최대 수량으로 생산, 시장 수요에 발 맞춰나간다는 계획이다.
먹태깡은 현재 부산공장에서 생산하고 있는데, 8월부터는 부산공장에서 생산하는 스낵 일부를 타 공장으로 이관하고 먹태깡 생산에 집중할 계획이다.
만약 부산공장 인프라를 최대한 활용할 경우 현재보다 먹태깡 생산량을 1.5배 가량 늘릴 수 있다.
농심 관계자는 "먹태깡에 대한 시장의 뜨거운 반응에 감사하다"면서 "최대한 많은 양의 제품을 생산할 수 있도록 다양한 방면에서 검토하고 있다"고 설명했다.
