세종시가 여름철 무더위로 어려움을 겪고 있는 취약계층 5천614가구와 37곳의 사회복지시설을 대상으로 재해구호기금을 긴급 투입해 7～8월 특별냉방비를 지원한다고 밝혔다.
특별냉방비는 취약계층에 2억 8천70만 원, 사회복지시설에 1천60만 원 등 총 2억 9천130만 원이며 21일까지 지급을 완료할 방침이다.
지원 대상 가운데 취약계층은 기초생활수급자 4천992가구 ,차상위계층 622가구 총 5천614가구로, 가구당 5만 원이 지원됐다.
사회복지시설은 정부의 냉방비 특별지원에서 제외된 시비 지원 시설 총 37곳으로 시설당 20만～100만 원까지 지원된다.
이번 지원은 정부의 에너지상품권(에너지바우처)와는 별도이며, 세종시는 신속한 냉방비 지원을 위해 별도 신청 없이 대상자 및 시설에 각각 현금으로 지급했다.
