집중호우로 수해가 발생하면서 특별재난지역으로 선포된 세종시가 가용 인력과 자원을 총동원해 수해복구에 나선다.
이를 위해 최민호 세종시장은 24일 집중호우 피해 복구작업을 둘러보고 시민 피해 및 불편 최소화를 위해 신속한 복구작업에 나서자고 강조했다.
24일 최 시장은 집중호우로 산사태 피해가 발생한 금남면 부용리 일원과 일부 시설이 유실된 연동면 미호강 체육시설에 대한 현장 점검을 실시했다.
금남면 부용리 지역은 이번 호우로 지난 15일 2.2㏊ 지역에 걸쳐 토사 밀림에 의해 산사태가 발생했으나 다행히 인명피해는 없었다.
시는 이 일대 도로를 통제하고 산에서 밀려 내려온 토사를 제거하고 추가 산사태가 발생하지 않도록 축대를 세우는 등 피해복구 작업을 서두르고 있다.
최민호 시장은 작업자 안전을 최우선 확보한 상태에서 피해복구에 힘써줄 것을 당부하고, 향후 이 같은 피해가 없도록 관내 산사태 우려지역에 대한 관리 강화 방안 마련을 주문했다.
시는 앞으로도 일부 지역에서 국지성 호우가 있을 것으로 예보된 만큼 추가적인 피해 발생에 대비해 이날부터 복구작업을 본격화한다.
이에 따라 시는 장기간 이어온 집중호우로 인한 시설 피해가 발생한 관내 268곳을 중심으로 24일부터 시청 직원, 군, 자원봉사자 등 가용한 자원을 총동원해 응급복구에 매진할 계획이다.
그동안 복구작업에는 32사단 장병 321명과 경찰 279명을 비롯해 자율방재단 552명, 의용소방대 255명, 자원봉사단체 411명 등 지금까지 2,000여 명의 인원이 동참했다.
