브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 한동훈 법무부 장관은 윤석열 대통령의 장모 최은순씨가 지난 21일 법정구속된 것과 관련 "지금 더불어민주당처럼 이화영 전 경기부지사 발언을 번복하기 위해 사법시스템에 개입하려는 시도가 재판 내내 전혀 없었다"고 밝혔다.
한동훈 장관은 26일 국회에서 열린 국회 법제사법위원회 전체회의에 출석해 "사법시스템에 따라 진행된 사안이고, 재판도 현재 진행 중이다"라며 이같이 말했다.
앞서 이재명 민주당 대표가 윤석열 정부가 최은순씨 수사에 개입하려한다고 주장하자, 정권 차원의 개입은 없었음을 재차 강조한 것이다.
한 장관은 이날 법사위 출석 도중 '검찰 회유로 이화영 전 부지사 진술이 오락가락하는 게 아니냐'는 기자들의 질문에도 "민주당은 자기 편에 불리한 진술을 뒤집어 보려고 검찰청에 몰려가 드러눕고 영치금 보내기 운동도 하고, 성명서를 내고, 가족을 접촉하고 면회해서 진술을 번복하라고 압박하는 행태를 보이고 있다"면서 "이것이야말로 권력을 악용한 최악의 사법 방해이자 스토킹에 가까운 행태"라고 비판하기도 했다.
한동훈 장관은 서울-양평 고속도로 사업과 관련한 박범계 민주당 의원의 의혹제기에 "(종점 변경에) 외압이 있었다는 충분한 단서를 갖고 이야기해야 한다"면서 "어떤 공직자의 외압이 있었다는 인과관계가 작은거라도 있나"라고 받아쳤다.
이에 박범계 의원은 "변경된 강상면 종점 5㎞ 내로 대통령 처가의 땅이 29필지 있다"면서 "공흥지구 건으로 여주지청이 기소한 과장이 현 양평군수 취임 후 일주일만에 원포인트로 국장에 승진해 강상면 종점안을 설계했다. 이 정도면 인과관계가 있지 않나"라고 따져 묻자, 한 장관은 "그건 느낌으로 말하는 정략적인 접근"이라고 일축했다.
아울러 유상범 국민의힘 의원이 "이재명 대표 최측근이 이화영 전 부지사를 찾아가 당에서 최대한 돕겠다는 말을 했다"는 보도내용을 언급하자, 한 장관은 "관련자의 구체적 진술이 보도됐다고 해서 그 내용을 번복하기 위해 공당이 이렇게 적극적으로 나서는 것은 대단히 잘못됐고 이런 전례를 본 적도 없다"고 맞장구 쳤다.
이와함께 "검찰이 이화영 전 부지사를 회유하고 압박했느냐"는 유 의원 질의에도 "이 전 부지사는 국회의원까지 지낸 분인데, 그런 분을 회유하고 압박할 정도로 간 큰 검사가 있겠나. 만일 했다고 해도 다 꼬투리 잡힐 것이다. 민주당이 밖에다 별 이야기를 다 하고 있는데, 그 이야기는 안했겠느냐"고 답했다.
