문씨 집성촌에 태어난 내 아버지는 한 마을에서 살았다. 마을 밖이라곤, 아들인 내가 살았던 서울에 며칠 들른 게 전부였다. 평생, 마을 논둑길을 이리 걷고 저리 걷고, 그렇게 살다가 80세에 별세했다.
나는 아버지 집에 태어나긴 했어도, 온 세상을 돌아 다녔다. 삶, 대부분을 서울에 살았다. 미국 뉴욕 맨해튼에서도 5년이나 살았다. 중국, 러시아, 일본, 프랑스엘 가봤다. 캐나다, 필리핀, 베트남, 태국, 대만, 몽골에도 가 봤다. 북한 지역인 금강산도 3번이나 가 봤다.
아버지는 한 마을에만 주욱 있었고, 나는 세계를 이리저리 돌아다녀봤다.

[Poetry] A poem reminiscent of my father

My father, who was born in the Mun family's village, lived in one village. The only thing out of town was a few days in Seoul, where I, his son, lived. He passed away at the age of 80 after living this way, walking along the rice paddy road in the village all his life.
Although I was born into my father's house, I have traveled all over the world. I lived most of my life in Seoul. I lived in Manhattan, New York, USA for five years. I have been to China, Russia, Japan and France. I have been to Canada, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan and Mongolia. I also visited Mt. Geumgang in North Korea three times.
My father stayed in one village, and I traveled all over the world.
