희망브리지 전국재해호협회(회장 송필호)는 한국자원봉사협의회와 함께 최근 집중호우로 큰 피해를 본 충남 청양군의 농가를 찾아 비닐하우스에 쌓인 폐기물과 토사 제거 등의 복구 활동에 나섰다고 9일 밝혔다.
이번 복구에 참여한 자원봉사자 수는 약 1백명으로 서울과 세종 등지에서 수해 농가의 일상 회복을 위해 모였다. 희망브리지에 따르면 봉사자들은 무더운 날씨 속에서도 묵묵히 구슬땀을 흘리며 복구 활동에 임했다고 한다.
폭우로 멜론을 재배하던 비닐하우스가 무너진 농민 A씨(60대)는 “비는 그친지 오래지만 고령에다가 일손이 부족해 무너진 축대를 세우거나 쓰레기도 치우지 못하는 주민들이 많다”라며, “농사가 망해 눈앞이 막막하지만 그래도 우리를 위해 전국에서 와주신 봉사자분들에게 너무나 감사드린다”라고 말했다.
희망브리지는 오는 12일에도 청양군 청남면 일대를 찾아 수해 농가의 시설 복구를 위한 봉사 활동을 이어나갈 예정이다.
