브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 검찰이 대선개입을 위한 허위 인터뷰 의혹을 받고 있는 뉴스타파에 대해 압수수색을 실시했다.
14일 법조계에 따르면 대선개입 여론조작 의혹 특별수사팀(팀장 강백신 부장검사)는 이날 오전 서울 중구 뉴스타파 사무실에 수사관 등을 급파해 압수수색을 실시하고 있다.
당시 뉴스타파 전문위원이던 신학림 전 언론노조 위원장은 화천대유자산관리 대주주 김만배씨에게서 1억6500만원을 받고 지난해 3월6일 윤석열 대통령과 이재명 더불어민주당 대표에 대한 허위사실이 담김 인터뷰를 보도한 혐의를 받고 있다.
김만배씨는 2021년 9월15일 진행된 인터뷰에서 '2011년 대검 중수부에서 근무하던 윤석열 대통령이 부산저축은행 불법 대출 브로커 의혹을 받는 조우형씨에 대한 수사를 무마해줬다'고 주장했다.
그러나 검찰은 2011년 당시 대검 중수부가 부산저축은행의 대장동 관련 대출을 수사하지 않았기 때문에 윤 대통령이 수사를 무마해줄 수 있는 위치가 아니였다면서 해당 인터뷰를 허위로 보고 있다. 김만배씨도 검찰 조사에서 이 발언은 허위였다는 취지로 인정한 것으로 전해졌다.
김만배씨는 또한 당시 성남시장이던 이재명 더불어민주당 대표가 대장동 사업과 무관하다는 취지로도 주장했는데, 검찰은 이 역시도 허위로 보고 있다. 검찰은 이재명 대표를 대장동 개발비리에 관여된 공범으로 보고 있다.
한편 검찰은 지난 1일 신학림 전 위원장의 주거지 등을 압수수색했으며 지난 7일에는 신 전 위원장을 불러 조사한 바 있다.
