브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 한국마사회 사회공헌재단이 추석을 맞아 내수경기침체로 어려움을 겪고 있는 전통시장을 활성화하고 지역사회 취약계층과 명절의 따듯함을 나누는 사회공헌 사업을 추진했다.
한국마사회 사회공헌재단 정기환 이사장을 비롯한 임직원들은 지난 20일 렛츠런파크 서울에 위치한 농축산물 직거래 장터 ‘바로마켓’에서 취약계층에 지원할 물품 등을 직접 구매하며, 경기침체로 힘들어하는 상인들을 응원하고 격려하는 시간을 가졌다.
이번 ‘2023년 한가위 취약계층 및 전통시장 지원 사업’은 과천외에도, 장수, 제주 등 한국마사회 사업장이 위치한 지역에서 함께 진행됐다.
정기환 한국마사회 사회공헌재단 이사장은 “이번 나눔 활동은 침체된 전통시장을 활성화하고, 소외계층 모두에게 따뜻한 손길을 전하고자 진행됐다”며 “추석을 맞아 어려운 이웃에게 따뜻한 마음이 조금이나마 전달되었길 바라며, 앞으로도 우리 주변에 소외된 이웃을 돕는데 앞장서겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 한국마사회 사회공헌재단은 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 통한 국민복리 증진을 위해 한국마사회가 2014년 설립한 사회공헌재단이다. 사회공헌재단은 국민드림마차 지원, 사회공익승마, 장학관 운영 등 한국마사회의 대표 사회공헌 사업을 추진하고 있다.
