브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 최근 코레일 직원들이 근무지를 무단이탈해 경마장에 출입하거나 해외 구매대행업을 등록해 수입을 얻는 등 비위행위가 천태만상인 것으로 드러났다.
조오섭 더불어민주당 국회의원이 한국철도공사로부터 제출받은 ‘ 정직기간 중 보수 지급 내역’에 따르면 코레일은 최근 3년간 (2021~ 2023년 3월 기준) 품위유지의무 위반으로 정직 처분된 징계대상자들에게 총 1억5949만원의 급여를 지급했다.
근무 중 음주를 하거나 음주운전으로 처분을 받은 직원 4명에게 정직 기간 동안 총 약 1370 만원의 급여가 지급됐고, 직장 내 괴롭힘으로 처분을 받은 직원들도 약 2280 만원의 급여를 타갔다.
심지어 2차 가해를 포함한 성희롱 가해 직원 9명도 3919만원의 급여를 탔고, 공금을 횡령한 직원 역시 113만원의 급여를 받은 것으로 확인됐다.
국민권익위원회는 2022년 6월 정직 처분을 받은 직원들에게 급여가 지급되지 않도록 권고했지만 철도공사는 2023년 4월 28 일이 돼서야 해당 규정을 개정했다.
그 사이에 정직자에게 약 6860만원의 급여가 지급돼 늦장대응이라는 비판이다.
부당 영리행위를 하다가 적발된 사례도 다수 있었다. 본인명의 사업자를 등록하고 배우자 사업 업무를 도와 4억8000여만원을 , 주택임대사업을 통해서 2억6000여만원의 수입을 얻었다.
또한, 본인 명의로 다단계 판매업 회원가입을 하고 배우자가 판매 행위를 하거나 해외 구매대행업을 등록해 대행업체에서 운영하게 해 수익을 취한 경우도 있었다.
조오섭 의원은 “코레일의 기강해이가 심각한 상황인데도 코레일은 늦장 대응만 하고 있다”며 “비위 징계자에게 성과급이 지급되는 일이 없도록 철저히 감시하고 공직기강을 바로잡는 고강도의 쇄신이 필요하다”고 말했다.
