23일 군에 따르면 이번 대회는 관내 초등학교 3∼6학년 학생을 대상으로 스피치 능력을 경연하는 행사로, 울진군 학생들의 영어 스피치 능력 향상과 글로벌 마인드 함양 및 국제경쟁력 강화에 기여하고 있다.
이번 영어 스피치 대회는 관내 6개 초등학교 36명의 학생들이 지도교사 지도 아래 그간 갈고 닦은 영어 스피치 능력을 마음껏 뽐냈다.
또한, 스피치 경연뿐만 아니라 관객과 함께 하는 퀴즈 등 부대행사와 함께 진행해 참가한 학생들뿐만 아니라 학부모, 선생님과 기억에 남을 소중한 시간을 보냈다.
학생들의 열정 넘치는 스피치 경연 후 한국인 교수를 포함한 원어민 교수들의 공정한 심사를 통해 대상 1명, 금상 2명, 은상 3명, 동상 6명, 장려상 8명, 참가상 16명 등 총 36명의 학생이 수상의 영예를 안았다.
