국가철도공단 충청본부는 국립공원공단과 협업해 계룡산 내 탄소흡수원 확충을 위한 자연숲 복원 활동을 전개했다고 25일 밝혔다.

이날 충청본부 봉사단 20여명은 국립공원공단 계룡산사무소 직원, 자원봉사자들과 함께 계룡산의 불청객인 단풍잎돼지풀, 환삼덩굴 등 생태계 교란식물을 제거했다.

또 싸리나무, 조팝나무 등 자생식물을 심으며 계룡산의 생태계를 지키고 건강한 자연숲을 조성하기 위해 구슬땀을 흘렸다.

김윤양 충청본부장은 “이번 활동으로 충청본부 관내에 위치한 계룡산의 지속가능한 자연환경을 보전하는데 조금이나마 기여하였기를 희망한다.”며, “앞으로도 탄소중립과 생태보호 활동을 꾸준히 진행해 공공기관으로서 ESG 경영 실현에 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.
