군에 따르면‘숲의 We로’는 작년 울진 산불로 인해 피해를 입은 지역주민을 대상으로 진행되는 행사로 주민들의 심리적·신체적 회복에 기여하고 더불어 동서트레일 55구간에 대한 관심도 커질 것으로 기대하고 있다.
행사가 진행되는 55구간은 산포리 망양정~하원리 중섬교까지 이어지는 총 20km의 숲길이다. 해당 구간은 동서트레일의 시점이자 종점으로 동서트레일의 가장 상징적인 구간이다. 55구간은 우리금융그룹의 기부금을 통해 만들어져 우리금융길이라는 이름이 붙었다.
‘숲의 We로’는 트레킹 활동을 포함해 숲멍, 아로마 테라피, 차담 등이 다양한 프로그램이 진행될 예정이다. 자세한 사항은 한국등산·트레킹지원센터 누리집에서 확인할 수 있다.
손병복 울진군수는“동서트레일 조성 이후 처음 개최되는 행사인 만큼 지역주민들의 많은 관심과 참여를 부탁드린다”며“앞으로 주민들과 상생할 수 있는 기회가 많아지도록 더욱 노력하겠다”라고 전했다.
