브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 한국마사회는 지난 23일 ‘2024년도 제1차 ESG위원회’를 개최했다고 26일 밝혔다.
한국마사회 ESG위원회는 ESG기반 경영체계 강화의 목적으로 ESG관련 안건에 대한 심의·자문·성과점검 등을 위해 이사회 내의 소위원회로 운영되고 있으며, 경영관리본부장, 비상임이사 3명 및 내·외부 위촉위원 등 총 6명으로 구성돼 있다.
이날 개최된 위원회에서는 2023년 ESG경영 추진성과에 대한 보고 및 ESG경영 수준 제고를 위한 제언이 이뤄졌다.
한국마사회는 환경, 사회, 지배구조 영역별 13개 핵심과제를 수립하여 추진해오고 있으며, 2023년 대표성과로는 △제주목장의 말(馬) 품종 최초 ‘깨끗한 축산농장’ 정부인증 취득 △농어촌 ESG실천 인정기업 선정 및 농식품부 장관 포상 △공정한 노사관계 운영으로 노사혁신 대상 수상 △지속가능경영보고서 발간 등 ESG정보 공시확대 등이 있다.
한편, 한국마사회는 KRA-ESG 진단모델을 통해 ESG경영 수준을 객관적으로 진단하고 개선과제를 발굴하는데 활용하고 있다. KRA-ESG 진단모델은 한국마사회가 산업통상자원부의 ESG경영 가이드라인을 바탕으로 자체 수립한 모델로 43개 진단항목으로 구성되어 있으며 각 진단항목별 세부내용은 기업 홈페이지를 통해 확인 가능하다.
한국마사회 추완호 경영관리본부장은 “ESG위원회의 경영제언을 바탕으로 경마고객 보호체계를 고도화하고, 핵심사업과 관련한 이해관계자 대상 지원을 강화해나갈 계획이다”고 전했다.
