[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 교육부의 ‘교육발전특구’1차 시범지역으로 지정됐다고 29일 밝혔다.
교육발전특구는 정부의 지방시대 구현을 위한 핵심 정책으로 지자체와 교육청, 대학, 지역 산업체와 유관기관이 협력해 지역의 인재들이 지역에서 좋은 교육을 받고 행복하게 정주할 수 있는 기반을 마련하기 위한 지역 살리기 정책이다.
시는 지난 2월초 경남도가 지정하는 8개 시·군으로 미래자동차·의생명산업분야 전문기능인력 양성을 위해 △ 특성화고-대학-산업체 연계 전략산업 맞춤형 교육과정 운영 지원 △ 생애주기별 맞춤형 취업 및 정주 지원을 주요내용으로 공모 신청에 참여했다.
특구로 지정됨에 따라 김해시는 교육부가 올해부터 2027년까지 3년간 매년 지원하는 30억원~100억원의 지방교육재정교부금 중 일부를 지원받을 수 있게 됐으며 구체적인 세부 추진계획 및 지원액 등은 교육부, 지방시대위원회 및 정책전문가들과의 컨설팅 및 경남도와의 협의를 거쳐 최종 결정될 예정이다.
홍태용 시장은 “교육발전특구 지정을 통해 우리 지역 정착률이 높은 특성화고 인재들을 우리 지역 발전을 위한 자원으로 키울 수 있는 시스템을 마련할 수 있을 것”이라며 “올해 인제대·가야대·김해대와 함께 추진 중인 글로컬대학 지정에도 총력을 다해 김해시가 지역주도 교육혁신을 선도할 수 있도록 하겠다”고 말했다.
