진주시, 호탄동 MBC~수협사거리 노후 배수본관 교체공사

[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 호탄동 MBC에서 수협사거리 구간에 매설되어 있는 노후 배수본관 485m를 17일부터 8월 말까지 총사업비 7억원을 들여 교체한다고 밝혔다.

호탄동의 일부 지역이 상대배수지(대지고도 58m) 계통의 수돗물이 공급돼 적정 수압을 유지하기 어렵고 기존 관로가 노후 되어 잦은 누수와 적수가 발생하고 있다.

이에 시는 연암공업대학교 앞에 유량계를 설치하고 수협사거리까지 배수본관을 매설해 호탄동 전체에 판문2배수지에서 생산되는 수돗물을 공급해 적정 수압을 유지할 계획이다.

이번 공사가 마무리되면 호탄동 일대에 맑고 안정적인 수돗물 공급은 물론 유량감시 체계가 구축돼 상수도 사고 시 신속하게 대처가 가능하게 된다.

진주시 관계자는 “공사 진행을 출퇴근 시간은 피하는 등 불편을 최소화하기 위해 최선을 다할 것이다”며 “불가피한 사항에 대해서는 주민들의 협조와 이해를 부탁한다”고 말했다.
