고려가 개경 궁궐 물샐틈 없이 수비한다는 보고를 받온 달래는 개경을 직접 공격하기는 어렵다 보고 삼별초 병사 몇몇을 데리고 강화를 지나 임진강까지 누비고 다녔다.
