[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 용인특례시가 ‘신갈오거리 도시재생 거리축제 신갈마실편’을 개최한다.
4월 27일 이곳에서 열린 동명의 축제에 시민 3만여 명이 몰려 큰 호응을 얻은 데 이어 산책하기 좋은 계절을 맞아 ‘신갈마실’이라는 부제로 다시 한번 시민들에게 특별한 즐거움을 선사하겠다는 것이다.
시는 10월 5일 기흥구 신갈로 58번길 일원 뮤지엄아트거리에서 시민과 함께하는 신갈오거리가 옛 명성을 되찾도록 신갈동 행정복지센터 앞 거리의 노상주차장을 없애고 인도를 넓혀 뮤지엄아트거리를 만들고, 신갈초 주변엔 인도를 설치하고 교통사고 방지시스템을 구축해 어린이 안심골목을 조성하는 등 553억원을 투자해 도시재생 프로젝트를 진행하고 있다.
시는 이번 축제에선 시민들이 도시재생으로 새롭게 탈바꿈하고 있는 신갈오거리를 오감으로 즐기도록 하는 데 주안점을 뒀다.
시민들이 새단장한 신갈오거리를 거닐며 마을의 변화를 느끼고 축제를 즐길 수 있도록 옛 거리를 추억할 수 있는 포토존과 용인탁주 시음회 등 이곳에서만 접할 수 있는 특별한 체험들을 준비했다.
이번에 첫선을 보이는 용인탁주는 시가 도시재생사업의 공동체 회복 사업으로 운영한 공유부엌인 ‘오거리부엌’에서 지역 주민과 만든 것이다.
시는 2022년부터 주민들과 다양한 막걸리를 시험 생산하다가 올 초 기흥구 중동에서 청년들이 운영하는 막걸리 제조업체 아토양조장과 손을 잡고 용인백옥쌀과 누룩만으로 만든 용인탁주를 개발했다.
시는 용인탁주를 내년 초 정식 출시하고 판매 수익금은 신갈오거리 도시재생사업에 환원할 방침이다.
