안산시, 美 테네시주 경제개발부 장관과 면담

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=안산 이현준기자] 안산시 이민근 시장은 미국 테네시주 스튜어트 맥코터 경제개발부 장관과 간담회를 열었다.

지난 9일 안산시청에서 안산시와 테네시주 간의 교류 협력 방안에 대해 논의했다.

이번 테네시주 경제개발부 장관 방문단 일행의 안산시 방문은 올해 초 ‘기업도시 안산’의 매력적인 투자 환경을 홍보하기 위해 이민근 안산시장 등 경제사절단이 미국 테네시주를 방문한 데 따른 답방 차원에서 이뤄졌다.

이번 면담에는 미국 테네시주 스튜어트 맥코터 경제개발부 장관을 비롯해 앨런볼든 경제개발부 부장관, 신희정 테네시주정부한국사무소 대표가 참석했으며,올해 초테네시주에 미국법인을 개설한 ㈜유니테크 이성호 회장과 이한영 부사장이 참석했다.

이 시장은 이번 면담에서 경제, 문화, 교육 등 분야에 걸쳐 교류 협력 필요성에 대해강조하는 한편, 기업 유치를 위한 안산의 매력적인 투자환경과 최근 시에서 역점을 두고 추진 중인 경제자유구역 지정 유치 사안에 대해 어필했다.

이민근 안산시장은 “안산시는 기업도시로서 기업이 발전하는 데 필요한 지원을 아끼지 않고 추진하고 있다”라며 “테네시주와 다양한 방면에서 활발한 교류를 바탕으로 상호 호혜적인 관계로 지속 발전할 수 있기를 희망한다”라고 말했다.

스튜어트 맥코터 경제개발부 장관은 “안산시를 방문할 수 있게 되어 매우 기쁘다”라며 “대규모의 산업단지를 보유한 안산시 현장 시찰을 통해 많은 것을 배워가고교류할 수 있길 기대한다”라고 화답했다.
