[브레이크뉴스경기남부=시흥 이현준기자] 시흥시가 ‘시화호의 날 기념행사’를 성황리에 마무리했다.
시화호의 날을 맞아 지난 10일부터 12일까지 사흘간 시흥 거북섬 일원에서 열린 행사에는 다양한 계층의 시민들이 참여해 시화호의 역사적, 환경적 가치를 되새기며, 시화호가 나아갈 새로운 미래 비전을 제시하는 의미 있는 시간이 됐다.
‘10월 10일, 시화호의 날’은 시화호 환경개선의 중요성을 널리 알리고, 시화호를 중심으로 하는 해양 신산업 활성화를 통해 시화호 권역의 가치와 시민 삶의 질을 높이기 위해 제정됐다. 이는 2023년 10월 11일 제정된 ‘경기도 시화호 활성화를 위한 지원 조례’에 따라 경기도 기념일로 공식 지정됐으며, 지난 9월 고시됐다.
이번 기념행사는 시화호의 환경 메시지를 담은 체험 부스와 공연 프로그램, 시화호 전국 사진 공모전 수상작 전시, 시화호 이야기 및 환경 상식을 활용한 시화호 환경 골든벨 등으로 다채롭게 구성됐다.
특히 어린이 뮤지컬은 시화호 역사적 배경과 미래 방향을 각색해 온 가족이 함께 즐기는 콘텐츠를 선보였으며, 시민들은 시화호 선상 투어를 통해 시화호의 자연경관을 직접 체험하며 시화호가 나아갈 미래를 상상했다.
