중부해경청, 여름철 해양레저 성수기 맞아 ‘음주운항 특별단속’ 실시

(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 중부지방해양경찰청이 오는 6월 28일부터  8월 31일까지, 본격적인 여름 해양레저 성수기를 맞아 음주운항으로 인한 해양사고를 예방하기 위해  ‘음주운항 특별단속’을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

중부해경청에 따르면, 최근 3년간 단속한 음주운항 사례는 총 44건으로, 이 중 86%인 38건이 어선과 수상레저기구에서 발생했다. 

특히, 낚시어선과 수상레저기구는 일반인 이용이 많고 음주 가능성도 높아, 해양 안전의 사각지대로 지적되고 있다.

또한, 최근 관련 법령 개정으로 카약, 카누, 윈드서핑 등 무동력 레저기구에 대한 음주운항도 처벌 대상이 됐다. 

이에 따라 해양경찰은 이번 특별단속 기간 중 무동력 기구 이용자에 대해서도 계도 및 홍보활동을 병행, 주취 조종 금지에 대한 인식 제고에 나설 예정이다.

한편, 단속에 앞서 6월 20일부터 27일까지는 홍보·계도 기간으로 지정하고, 전국 주요 항·포구 및 레저 활동지에 현수막과 전광판을 활용한 홍보, 지역 언론보도 및 SNS를 통한 캠페인 등을 실시해 국민의 경각심을 높일 계획이다.

중부해경청 관계자는 “음주운항은 생명을 위협하는 중대한 범죄행위로, 선박의 종류를 불문하고 철저히 단속할 방침”이라며 “음주 후 운항은 자신뿐 아니라 타인의 생명까지 위협할 수 있다는 점을 반드시 인식하고, 안전한 해양문화 조성에 동참해주시길 바란다”고 당부했다.

The Central Coast Guard announced that it will conduct a 'special crackdown on drunk driving' from June 28 to August 31 to prevent marine accidents caused by drunk driving in preparation for the summer marine leisure peak season.

According to the Central Coast Guard, a total of 44 cases of drunk driving were cracked down on in the past three years, and 38 cases, or 86%, occurred on fishing boats and water leisure equipment.
