홍성군, '여성친화도시 시민참여단' 역량 강화 나서

충남 홍성군이 여성친화도시 정책 추진에 있어 시민 주도의 참여 기반을 강화하고자 본격적인 실천 교육에 나섰다.

군은 지난 20일 홍성가족어울림센터 회의실에서 ‘여성친화도시 시민참여단 역량강화 교육’을 개최했다고 밝혔다. 이번 교육은 여성과 가족, 지역주민 모두가 체감할 수 있는 안전하고 포용적인 지역사회를 만들기 위한 시민참여단의 실천 능력 향상에 중점을 두고 마련됐다.

강의는 충남사회서비스원의 임우연 선임연구위원이 맡아, ‘지역사회 안전 증진을 위한 여성친화도시 시민참여단의 역할’을 주제로 진행됐다. 임 위원은 이날 강연에서 여성친화도시의 개념과 정책 방향, 그리고 전국 각지에서의 적용 사례를 심도 있게 소개했다. 아울러 “지역 내 숨은 안전 사각지대 해소를 위해 시민참여단이 수행할 수 있는 실질적 역할이 그 어느 때보다 중요하다”며 시민의 주체적 참여를 강조했다.

교육 이후에는 시민참여단이 직접 수행한 홍성군 내 공공시설물 모니터링 결과를 공유하는 시간이 이어졌다. 현장에서 확인된 안전 취약 요소와 불편사항을 중심으로 개선 방안이 제안됐고, 향후 정기적인 모니터링 체계 강화에 대한 논의도 활발히 이뤄졌다.

홍성군 관계자는 “이번 교육을 계기로 시민참여단이 성평등 문화 확산과 안전한 지역 사회 조성에 앞장서기를 기대하며, 군 또한 지속적인 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.
