충남 예산군은 덕산온천 관광지 내에 조성한 ‘황톳길’이 지난 6월 20일 준공을 마치고, 지역 대표 건강 관광 명소로 새롭게 문을 열었다고 26일 밝혔다.
이번 조성 사업은 자연과 치유, 여가를 결합한 특화 공간으로, 기존의 온천 자원에 숲길과 황토를 더해 체험형 힐링 콘텐츠를 강화하는 데 목적을 뒀다.
군에 따르면 황톳길은 스트로브잣나무 숲을 따라 총연장 650m, 폭 2.0m 규모로 조성됐으며, 지방소멸대응기금을 포함해 총 3억5000만 원이 투입됐다. 특히 조성 과정에서 황토 다짐, 수분 분사, 황토 보충 등 세심한 공정을 거쳐 보행자의 안전성과 체험 만족도를 동시에 확보했다는 점에서 눈길을 끈다.
황톳길 주변에는 먼지 제거를 위한 세족장과 먼지털이 시설, 휴식을 위한 벤치, 비가림 쉼터 등도 함께 마련돼 이용자 편의를 높였다. 더불어 산책로 인근에 설치된 족욕장은 걷기 후 발을 담그며 피로를 풀 수 있도록 해 황톳길 체험의 완성도를 높이고 있다.
