충청남도가 지역 내 지방의료원이 직면한 경영 위기를 극복하고, 장기적인 운영 안정성을 확보하기 위한 본격적인 지원에 나섰다.
도는 30일 도 보건환경연구원에서 열린 ‘전문가 초청 경영전략 연찬회’를 통해 실질적인 개선 방안과 경영 혁신 전략을 공유하며 공공의료 체계 재정비에 시동을 걸었다.
이번 연찬회는 충남도와 공공보건의료지원단, 도내 4개 지방의료원을 비롯해 공공의료 및 병원 경영 분야 전문가 등 80여 명이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다. 지방의료원의 현실적인 경영난에 대한 진단과 함께, 공공성과 수익성 간 균형을 고려한 지속가능한 경영 전략 마련이 핵심 의제로 다뤄졌다.
이날 첫 발표에 나선 이흥훈 국립중앙의료원 공공보건의료지원센터장은 ‘충남도 지방의료원 경영혁신의 방향’을 주제로, 공공의료기관이 나아가야 할 통합적 혁신 전략을 제시했다. 그는 “지역사회와의 연계 강화, 인력 구조의 효율화, 수익성과 공공성의 조화를 통해 지속 가능한 공공의료 기반을 구축해야 한다”고 강조했다.
이어 나종익 한국능률협회컨설팅 전문위원은 ‘스코어링 기법을 활용한 진료과 운영 전략수립 기법’을 소개하며, 진료과별 경영 실적을 정량화해 평가하고 자원 배분의 효율성을 높이는 전략적 운영 방식을 제안했다.
정용구 김천의료원장은 ‘코로나19 이후 경영 회복 전략’을 발표하며, 감염병 대응 경험을 기반으로 한 병원 운영의 유연성과 위기 대응력 제고의 중요성을 강조했다.
이어진 종합토론에서는 지역별 의료 수요에 따른 맞춤형 전략과 지방의료원이 도민 건강권 수호에 실질적으로 기여하기 위한 방향이 집중 논의됐다. 특히 각 기관 간 협력과 정보 공유를 강화하고, 의료 서비스의 질 제고와 경영 개선이 동시에 이뤄질 수 있는 시스템 구축이 필요하다는 데 공감대가 형성됐다.
도는 이번 연찬회 결과를 바탕으로, 지역 공공의료기관의 경영 안정화 및 발전, 의료 서비스 강화를 위한 정책 마련에 속도를 낼 계획이다.
