[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 정촌면 뿌리일반산업단지 내에 들어설 예정인 정촌 체육시설(수영장) 건립사업의 건축설계공모 당선작을 선정하고 본격적인 사업 추진에 나섰다.
이번 사업은 행정안전부의 ‘주한미군 공여구역주변지역 등 발전종합계획’에 따라 지난 2024년 10월 신규사업으로 확정된 국비 지원 지역개발 프로젝트다.
정촌 체육시설은 낙후된 지역의 균형 발전과 주민 복리 증진을 목표로 추진되며, 수영장과 피트니스센터 등 다양한 체육·편의시설이 포함된다.
진주시는 지난 4월 29일부터 지난달 27일까지 전국 단위 건축설계공모를 진행했으며, 총 36점의 작품 중 5개가 수상작으로 선정됐다.
최종 당선작은 ㈜무위건축사사무소와 헤이마건축사사무소의 공동 출품작인 ‘금산유수–자연과 산업시설이 만들어내는 독특한 풍경’이다.
당선작은 수영장 예정지 남측 금산과의 시각적·지형적 연계를 살린 설계로, 자연과 조화를 이루는 랜드마크적 건축물로 높은 평가를 받았다.
시설은 지형을 따라 기능별 공간이 배치되고, 넓은 중앙 로비를 중심으로 수영장, GX룸, 피트니스센터 등이 효율적으로 구성될 예정이다.
건축물은 지상 2층, 연면적 2653㎡ 규모로 조성되며, 체육시설 외에도 근린생활시설이 포함돼 지역 주민들의 일상 편의성을 높일 전망이다.
당선 건축사사무소에는 약 6억4천만원 규모의 설계 우선협상권이 부여되며 입상자들에게는 순위에 따른 상금이 차등 지급된다.
