경북교육청, 대구교육대와 함께 ‘예비 교사와 교육희망캠프’ 운영

【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북교육청(교육감 임종식)은 오는 8월 4일부터 8일까지 5일간 경주시 내 초등학교 2곳에서 대구교육대학교와 협력해 ‘예비 교사와 함께하는 교육희망캠프’를 연다.

2014년부터 시작된 이 캠프는 도내 농산어촌 학생들을 위한 정서 지원 프로그램으로 출발해, 2019년부터는 교육 소외 및 이주배경 학생 맞춤형 프로그램으로 더욱 내실 있게 운영되고 있다.

올해는 특히 경주 지역 이주배경 학생들이 많은 두 초등학교를 대상으로, 언어 장벽을 넘어 음악, 미술, 체육 등 11개 예체능 프로그램을 통해 학생 간 소통과 공감을 높이는 데 집중한다.

캠프에는 경주 지역 초등학생 100명과 대구교육대 교수 및 재학생 30명이 멘토와 멘티로 참여해 하루 4시간씩 5일 동안 다채로운 체험을 함께한다. 이를 통해 학생들의 감수성과 창의력 향상은 물론, 예비 교사들에게는 실제 교직 진로 탐색의 기회가 제공된다.

경북교육청은 지난 5월과 7월에 대구교육대 및 해당 교육지원청, 학교와 함께 사전 협의와 시설 점검을 마쳐 캠프 준비에 만전을 기했다.

임종식 교육감은 “교육희망캠프를 통해 농어촌 및 교육 소외 학생들에게는 맞춤형 정서 지원을, 예비 교사들에게는 교직 진로 모색 기회를 제공하며 지역사회와 협력하는 기초학력 네트워크를 더욱 강화하겠다”고 말했다.

The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) will hold the ‘Education Hope Camp with Prospective Teachers’ in cooperation with Daegu National University of Education for five days from August 4 to 8 at two elementary schools in Gyeongju.

This camp, which began in 2014, started as an emotional support program for students in rural and fishing villages in the province, and has been operated more substantively since 2019 as a customized program for students with educational exclusion and immigrant backgrounds.

This year, it will focus on increasing communication and empathy among students through 11 arts and physical education programs, including music, art, and physical education, by overcoming language barriers, targeting two elementary schools in the Gyeongju area with many immigrant background students.

100 elementary school students in the Gyeongju area and 30 professors and current students from Daegu National University of Education will participate in the camp as mentors and mentees, spending four hours a day for five days and experiencing various experiences together. Through this, students’ sensitivity and creativity will be improved, and prospective teachers will be provided with opportunities to explore real career paths in teaching.

The Gyeongbuk Office of Education completed preliminary consultations and facility inspections with Daegu University of Education, the relevant education support offices, and schools in May and July to fully prepare for the camp.

Superintendent of Education Lim Jong-sik said, “Through the Education Hope Camp, we will provide customized emotional support to students in rural and fishing villages and underprivileged areas, provide opportunities for prospective teachers to explore career paths in teaching, and further strengthen the basic academic network that cooperates with the local community.”
