(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시 농업기술센터가 22일, 인천시민을 대상으로 ‘2025년 하반기 도시농업 전문가 양성과정’ 교육생을 모집한다고 밝혔다.
농업기술센터에 따르면, 도시농업 전문가과정은 이론과 실습을 통해 도시농업 전문가를 양성하는 교육과정이다.
이 과정을 80시간 이상 이수하고, 유기농업, 종자, 농화학, 조경 등 관련 법령에서 정하는 8개 분야 중 1개 분야의 기능사 이상 국가기술자격을 취득하면 농림축산식품부에서 발급하는 도시농업관리사 자격증을 신청할 수 있다.
도시농업관리사는 도시민들에게 도시농업 관련 교육, 해설, 지도, 기술보급 등을 할 수 있는 전문인력으로, 자격 취득 후 다양한 도시농업 분야에서 강사로 활동할 수 있다.
이번 과정은 8월 14일부터 11월 13일까지 매주 목요일 인천시 농업기술센터에서 진행한다.
교육 신청은 7월 28일부터 8월 1일까지 5일간 진행하며, 센터에 방문하거나 전자우편을 통해 서류를 제출하면 심사를 통해 30명을 선발한다.
이희중 시 농업기술센터 소장은 “이번 교육을 통해 도시농업 전문인력을 양성하고 인천의 도시농업을 활성화해 도심 속 농업의 사회적 기능을 발전시켜 나갈 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

또한, 지난 21일 인천시 농업기술센터가 계양구 갈현동 딸기농장에서 인천딸기연구회 회원 등 딸기재배농가 30여 명을 대상으로 우량 딸기모종 생산을 위한 을 실시했다고 밝혔다.
농업기술센터에 따르면, 딸기모종의 품질은 수확량과 품질에 직접적인 영향을 미치며 하지만 다른 지역에서 모종을 구입할 경우 품질 편차가 크고, 매년 가격이 오르면서 농가의 경영 부담이 커지고 있다.
이에 따라 일부 농가에서는 딸기모종을 직접 키우려는 움직임이 늘고 있으며, 육묘기술에 대한 관심과 교육 수요도 함께 높아지고 있다.
이날 교육은 딸기전문가 김종필 컨설턴트를 초빙해 딸기 모종 유인방법과 삽목방법, 모종을 키우는 육묘시설과 양분 및 온도 조절, 물주기, 육묘기 병해충 관리 등 고품질 우량 딸기 모종 생산을 위한 종합적인 재배 기술을 교육했다.
아울러, 현장에서 육묘 중인 모종의 생육 상태를 진단하고 개선 방안을 제시하는 현장 상담도 함께 진행됐다.
이날 교육에 참석한 인천딸기연구회 회원들은 각자 재배 과정에서 겪은 문제를 공유하며 해결책을 모색하는 등 적극적인 참여를 보였다.
특히, 현장 중심의 실습 교육이 이뤄져 참여 농가들로부터 큰 호응을 얻었다.
농업기술센터는 이번 교육을 통해 인천 딸기 농가들이 고품질 모종을 자가 생산할 수 있는 기반을 마련하고, 향후 경쟁력 있는 딸기 생산체계를 구축할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
