(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 28일, 최근 ‘도시공원 및 녹지 등에 관한 법률’ 개정안이 국회 국토교통위원회 상임위원회를 통과(7월 21일)함에 따라, 소래 일원의 국가도시공원 지정 추진에 더욱 속도를 내고 있다고 밝혔다.
인천시에 따르면, 이번 개정안은 국가도시공원 지정 요건인 면적 기준을 기존 300만㎡에서 100만㎡로 완화하는 내용을 담고 있다.

아울러, 소래 일대 기존 공원들을 하나로 아우르는 통합 공원 조성을 위한 도시관리계획(공원) 및 공원조성계획을 위한 도시공원위원회 심의 등 행정 절차도 단계적으로 추진할 계획이다.
인천시는 특히 소래염전 국가도시공원 조성계획 용역은 도시관리계획 예산 일부 활용 등 효율적이고 체계적인 방안을 다각도로 검토 중이며,국가도시공원 지정 일정에 지장이 없도록 추진해 나갈 예정이라고 덧붙였다.
인천시 관계자는 “법 개정 추진에 발맞춰 소래 일원을 국가도시공원으로 지정받기 위한 준비에 총력을 기울이고 있다”며, “국가도시공원 지정 이후에는 국비 확보 등 실질적 지원을 통해 소래 일원을 수도권과 서해안을 대표하는 세계적 명품 공원으로 조성하겠다”고 말했다.
