【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 북구청이 9월부터 주민 대상 외국어교육 강좌를 운영한다고 밝혔다.
오는 8월 1일부터 경북대학교 언어교육센터에서 진행되는 영어·중국어·일본어 회화 등 총 8개 과정에 120명을 선착순으로 모집한다.
이번 교육은 북구가 교육국제화특구 사업의 일환으로 구민들의 외국어 구사 능력을 높이고 국제 감각을 넓히기 위해 마련됐다.
개설 강좌는 기초회화 입문반, 기초 생활 영어, 원어민과 함께하는 생생 잉글리쉬(초급·중급, 주간·야간), 중국어 초급반, 중국어 중급 회화, 일본어 초·중급 생활회화 등으로 구성됐다. 모든 과정은 주 2회, 1회 2시간씩 12주간 진행된다.
수강료는 총 24만원이며, 이 중 18만원은 북구청이 지원하고 수강생은 자부담 6만원만 납부하면 된다.
수강 신청은 8월 1일부터 14일까지 신분증을 지참해 동 행정복지센터를 방문해 접수하면 된다. 강좌별로 15명을 선착순 모집하며, 수강 경험이 없는 신규 신청자가 우선 선발된다.
배광식 북구청장은 "양질의 외국어교육 기회를 통해 주민들의 외국어 실력은 물론, 다양한 문화를 이해하고 수용하는 성숙한 시민의식을 키울 수 있을 것으로 기대된다"고 말했다.

Daegu Buk-gu Office announced that it will offer foreign language education courses for residents starting in September.
Starting August 1st, the Kyungpook National University Language Education Center will offer eight courses, including English, Chinese, and Japanese conversational courses, and will accept 120 applicants on a first-come, first-served basis.
This program, part of Buk-gu's Education Internationalization Special Zone project, aims to enhance residents' foreign language proficiency and broaden their international perspectives.
Courses offered include: Introductory Basic Conversation, Basic English for Daily Life, Lively English with Native Speakers (Beginner/Intermediate, Day/Evening), Beginner Chinese, Intermediate Chinese Conversation, and Beginner/Intermediate Japanese Conversation. All courses will be held twice a week, for two hours each, for 12 weeks.
The total tuition fee is 240,000 won, of which 180,000 won will be covered by Buk-gu Office. Students will only need to pay 60,000 won out of pocket.
To register for the course, please visit the local administrative welfare center with your ID between August 1st and 14th. Each course will be limited to 15 participants on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to new applicants without prior experience.
Buk-gu Mayor Bae Gwang-sik stated, "We expect that this high-quality foreign language education opportunity will not only improve residents' foreign language skills but also foster a mature civic awareness that allows them to understand and embrace diverse cultures."
